Lebanon

Driving lessons are personalized to each student based on their goals. Performance is recorded for each lesson, to easily track student progress.

The 5 Hour Pre-licensing and the 6 Hour Defensive Driving Courses are by appointment only. Registration and prepayment can be done online, or over the phone.

At the Government Center we offer the following driver's license services.

Read the following instructions all the way through before you begin.

Gather your information

You will need:

  • Your current driver's license (for renewals)
  • Your parent or guardian if you are under 18 years of age
  • For name changes, you need a certified document (with a raised seal) that shows your legal name change (e.g. a certified marriage certificate).

Proof of identify is not required for a lost or stolen license.

Fill out the online application

For a Standard Driver's License or ID

If you want a standard driver's license, you can use the MN Driver & Vehicle Services web page to apply and pay for the standard license. If you choose this you do not have to come to the Government Center in person.

For Enhanced Driver's Licenses and Real IDs

If you want an enhanced driver's license or a Real ID, use the PRE-APPLY option on the MN Driver & Vehicle Services web page. This is the second link located on the left navigation of the web page. Fill out the form. Then come to the Government Center to pass the vision test, get your picture taken and pay the fees.

If you are asked to pay the fees online, you have selected the standard driver's license option. Cancel and access the Pre-Apply for a Driver's License or State ID link.

Get your arrival time

On the day you want to come into the Olmsted County Government Center building, use the Olmsted County Online Check-in page to get an arrival time. This will help us avoid crowded lines at the Government Center.

The web page will tell you what time to arrive. It will give you a ticket number that you will use to check in when you arrive. That same number will be used to call you to the desk. Keep it handy. (You will also receive a text message with this number and arrival time.)

For safe physical distancing, do not enter the Government Center more than five minutes before this time.

To minimize health risks, we ask that you bring no more than one guest along with you (and your guest should only be invited if necessary).
